It is a proved fact, that humanity, within 200 years of capitalism (the competition between blocks, nations and individuals) has nearly totally destroyed the planet. Climate shock, microplastic and digitalization are unsolvable problems, which will render the earth uninhabitable within a few decades.
ECONOMY:
Mankind has stumbled unsuspectingly and ignorant into the capitalism-growth-trap. Each of the 8 billion people consumes two "worlds" on average. But there is only one.
Conclusion:
If this earth were to remain habitable, per capita consumption would have to be reduced 6 times in USA, 3 times in Switzerland and 2 times globally. To achieve this, the economy would have to switch from the current neo-liberal system of competition to a global equal-distribution system, which, enforced by international "blue helmets", would have to prevent national interests (wars) and keep the earth habitable.
QUALITY OF LIFE:
Wellbeing (health, joy of life, secure future) without wealth, results in high quality of life.
Wealth (possession, power, reputation) without wellbeing, results in no quality of life.
Humans do need essentially only food, clothing, housing, health care, peace and clean environment. Everything else is an extra, not necessary and can be deleted. For life on earth, all fossil-carbon technology (i.e. individual cars, aviation, digitalization, concrete, oilbased plastics etc.) were catastrophic misdevelopments. Only mentally ill pundits call these disasters "progress" or even "prosperity".
MILITARY:
How stupid do you have to be, trying to achieve "safety" with a hundred times nuclear overkill? Overkill is beeing suppressed by the people, because no one can live contentedly with this inhuman threat.
Military is a huge waste of mind, material, environment and quality of life. National armies should be abolished and a world government with "blue helmets" should ensure peace and change "weapons to plowshares".
NUCLEAR POWER:
It is simply a scandal, that one single generation of mankind in their growth mania makes it impossible for 400 subsequent generations, to live in future as they may want to ( e.g. sustainable, close to nature, peaceful, real instead virtual, etc.), by forcing them to guard the deadly waste of the currently sick economy. An acceptable future is prevented by nuclear and genetic engineering. It is not only arrogant, but also stupid, to fix the future in such an ignorant way.
GENETIC ENGINEERING
Evolutionary biology shows, that the entire biosphere is much more closely connected, than it was previously assumed. Over millions of years of evolution, humans, animals, plants and environment have achieved an extremely delicate network balance, which is expressed in the structure of the gene-pool (biodiversity). Genetic engineering destroys this structure (the species boundaries) and it is impossible to predict the consequences. Clueless specialist are playing "russion roulette" with the biosphere.
DIGITALISATION, IT:
To have hundreds of virtual (fictional) and thus unknown friends, but not to speak with real counterparts at the table, that's anti-social. To wipe on electronic devices, instead to communicate direct with real human beings, that's anti-social. To think, that this will contribute to a better world, is just stupid. Equally stupid is , that scientists equate machine computing power to human intelligence. Computers are machines and run by definition according causally determined (human fixed) processes and have no intentions, no emotions, no ideas and certainly no social consciousness and can therefore never be a friend or partner. AI researchers often see themselves as machines or automatons and thus judge human characteristics and abilities as weaknesses. However, it is precisely these characteristics, that have given rise to the entire culture, including art and science. It is exlusively human mind, which forms matter and invent and programs electronic devices. By definition, machines can never invent or build themselves.
P.S. It was the stupidity of IT-builders, who had to call for a development-stop, because nobody understood anymore the actions of KI-machines. "Black boxes" with absurd outputs will soon "control" the nuclear overkill, because profit expetations prevent restriction of technology, even when it terminates life on earth..
CLIMATE:
The excessive use of fossile fuels has heated the earth within 200 years (seconds in evolution, CO2 410ppm) in a way, last seen 1,5 Mio years ago. For the last 800'000 years, Mean Sea Level and global temperature have been constant (CO2 200ppm), within the ice age fluctuations between.The latest IPCC report AR6 2022 proves this without doubt. A majority does not realise, that this means lifebase destruction and its evolution by fossil-carbon-poisoning since 1700 a.c. And it is not only the climate shock. It also makes elimination (decarbonisation) of all oilbased synthetics (2023 8300 Mio tons + 400 Mio annually) nessecary. Microplastics and species extinction are irreversible, regardless which kind of energy is used. To avoid extinction, only solar based energy (direct radiation, water, wind, biomasss) and volcanic activity are acceptable and climate neutral. Mankind must forbid all use of fossile and nuclear energy and reduce the total consumption by half, if there is to be a future.
Climate-Shock-Diagnosis: 200 Years Materialism+Machine+Capitalism=Climate-Disaster+Lifebase-Destruction.
Cause: The inherent growth compulsion of the competition driven liberalized economy and the resulting social and economic inequality. This threatens the existence of mankind through climate-migration, culture-clash, racism, and in the end war for raw materials and ressources.
SUSTAINABILITY:
1.Stop population explosion.
2.Reduce economy by half. Eliminate synthetics. Install circle-economy.
3.Reduce energy consumption by efficiency and ending fossil-carbon.
4.Design technology retrievable.
This requires:
1.Global contracts on the number of children (WHO, max. 2), promote education.
2.Promote regionalisation, dismantle globalization, replace capitalism (delete financial economy), reuse resources in cycles.
3.End fossile and nuclear energy, use solar energy only, promote public traffic, reduce individual traffic, reduce air traffic
4.Delete nuclear energy, destroy nuclear weapens, permit genetics within species only (CIS-genetics).
Hans Jonas (In his book "The principle of responsibility) formulated 1979, following Immanuel Kants "categorical" the ecological imperative:
"Act thus, that the effects of your actions are compatible with the permanence of real human life on earth."
SUGGESTION:
To gain consciousness: everybody worldwide gets from WHO or UNO a "footprint calculator" (like the one from WWF), online or paper. To fill it in takes only a few minutes and requires no special knowledge. The data would have to be transmitted anually by government bodies (office for statistics, tax, residents etc.) to the cientific community for research, which would make it easier for everyone involved, to understand the state of the earth and the trends.
This could lead to acceptance of drastic measures, which will be inevitable, if there is to be a future for humanity.
